Counter Strike

One of the best known first-person shooter multiplayer games.

The launching of the Counter Strike MOD for the Half-Life video game, marked a milestone, tranforming from a simple MOD to an independant computer game release, that completely changed the general consideration of most users towards first person shooter games. The video game was so polemic that is was prohibited to play the game in public in Germany.

  One of the major key factor for this games success is probably the simple multiplayer mode, that allows to form groups and face other users, with the aim of completing the objectives that will take your team to victory. The speed and coordination of the members of each team are vital to be able to win a game.

  Thus, in Counter Strike, two teams (one of terrorists and one of anti-terrorists) have to face each other in successive rounds of a specific length of time eliminating their enemies, reaching specific places and accomplishing the marked objectives.

  Some of the different situations that can appear in the Counter Strike game are:
1) Activation of bombs by the terrorist group in a determined location  of the map, and their deactivation by the antiterrorists.
2) Liberate the hostages help prisoners by the terrorists or eliminate all the antiterrorists.
3) The objective is to make sure that one of the antiterrorists survives.
4) The antiterrorists must avoid the terrorists escape, through predetermined places on the map.

  If you want to have a nice time with your friends and burn some adrenaline, the answer is Counter Strike.

  Note: The version that we offers is version 1.5, that can only be played over a local network, because version 1.6 that allows to play over Internet is now a pay service. Version 1.5 is still free and offers practically the same playability.

  Despite the fact that Counter Strike is freeware, since it is a modification it is still necessary to have an original copy of Halk-Life installed on the computer to be able to enjoy this classic online action game.
